Mina Louise (Powell) Nicholas, 99, Kokomo, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at century Villa Healthcare, Greentown. Born Nov. 28, 1912, in Huntington County, she was the daughter of the late John L. Barton and Watie F. (Shideler) Barton.

She was a 1930 graduate of Lancaster High School. In November 1937, she married Harold B. Powell, and he preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1965. Then in August 1975, she married Harold Nicholas, and he also preceded her in death in November 1999. She was employed with Delco Electronics, retiring after 40 years of service. She was a member of UAW Local 292, a former member of the Walton OES Chapter 184, now Royal Center Chapter 375. Mina also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, traveling and playing bingo.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Jeffery) Golding, Kokomo; one brother Robert (Beverly) Barton, Hartford City; two grandchildren, Jill Golding and David (Angel) Golding, both of Kokomo; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Brianne Golding, Emma Grace Golding, and Samuel David Golding; also several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one brother, Paul Barton; and three sisters, Mary Plasterer, Ruth Zook, and Avanelle Barton.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. Pastor Greg Reed will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens
