Son of William Menger Butts ad Frances Jane Boykin Butts.

James Steven Butts, Sr. born on July 7, 1916 went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2011 at the age of 95. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his 4 brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years Leocadia (Katy) Butts; daughter Joan A. Woods and husband Ronald; son James S. Butts, Jr. and his wife Patricia; grandchildren Deborah Gosnell, Rebecca Hartsfield and Charles J. Woods and by 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Butts will be greatly missed my everyone who knew him.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
