Mr. William Randolph "Randy" McKinnon, 47, of Douglas, Ga., passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. McKinnon, a native of Coffee County, Ga., was born March 15, 1956, the son of the late Carl Jesse and Hazel Pauline Brown McKinnon. He was a carpenter, a veteran of the United States Army, and attended Sunnyside Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Michael Shane McKinnon and Raymond Corey McKinnon; five brothers, James Travis, Jesse Edward, David Wayne, George Russell and Carl Fred McKinnon; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 8, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Sime Youngblood officiating. S music was as follows: soloist/pianist Melinda Gilbert sang "Amazing Grace" and "Daddy's Hands." Also a taped selection of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill was provided. Interment followed in Royals Church Cemetery, Atkinson County, Ga.
Active pallbearers were Edward Jerome McKinnon, Travis McKinnon, Jamey McKinnon, Lee Lewis, Wayne Spikes, Rusty McKinnon, and Donald Young.
Personnel from Fort Stewart presented the U. S. flag to family.
Sims Funeral Home of Douglas, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
