ABERDEEN ó Dorothy Virginia Wolverton Vaughn, 92, died Jan. 14, 2012, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Services are Monday at 11 a.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. David Forbes officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3-5 p.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Ms. Vaughn was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Monroe County, to the late Richard Harry Wolverton and Caroline Ida Wilson. She was a life long resident of Aberdeen. She was the founder of Vaughnís Beauty College in 1956 and served on the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology for nine years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mahlon Vaughn; and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Stella Vaughn Rule; sons, Richard Houston and Donald Mahlon Vaughn.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wayne and David Vaughn, Jason Rule, Paul Emerson, Lance Davis, and Richard Bradley.
