Mrs. Blanche Colburn Barr

Mrs. Blanche Colburn Barr died Sunday night at 9:45 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Mae Beames. She came here from her home in Berkshire last Spetember and had been cared for at the homes of her sisters, Mrs. E.H. Rider and Mrs. Beames and for some of the time had been a patient at the Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

A prayer service will be held at the home of Mrs. Beames at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. The Rev. Wilbur C. Dodge of the M.E. church will officiate. A funeral service will be held at the M.E. Church in Berkshire at 2 o'clock. The Rev. George Savage a former pastor, will officiate. The Berkshire Eastern Star Chapter will assist in the service.

Blanche Colburn Barr was born in the town of Milford May 16, 1884, a daughter of Charles Colburn and Charlotte Chase Colburn. She resided here until her marriage to Allen W. Barr of Berkshire. Mr. Barr died in October 1938.

She took an active part in community affairs, was a member of the Berkshire Methodist church, Eastern Star of Berkshire and Past matron association of Tioga county.

Besides the two sisters, mentioned above she is survived by a son, Lynn C. Barr of Albany and two grandchildren Carolyn and Allen Barr of Albany, a stepmother, Mrs. Kathryn Colburn of Morris, a brother, L.C. Colburn of Milford and several nephews and nieces.
