Funeral services for Ernest Andersen, 89, of Blair were held Monday, Feb.2, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Andersen died Friday, Jan. 30, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Ernest W. Andersen was born May 11, 1914 in Blair to John and Ane (Jensen) Andersen. He attended school in Herman, Kennard and Blair.

On March 12, 1936, he married Hazel Lorsch in Logan, Iowa. The couple lived in Blair their entire life. Mr. Andersen worked for the Blair Lumber Company for 40 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pat Neuman of Omaha, and Phyllis and Russell Puffer of Herman; 10 grandchildren and their families; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Andersen of Seward.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Fees; a grandson, Kevin; two sisters, Doris and Betty Andersen, brother, Clarence Andersen, and a son-in-law, Bill Neuman.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
