Mary E. Harsh, 86, of 9709 Hardcastle Road died at 7:10 p.m. Friday at her home after a 14-month illness. She had been in serious health the past 11 days.
Mrs. Harsh was born Aug. 22, 1904, in Tippecanoe County. She was born,married, and died in the same log cabin in which her mother was born,married and died. She moved to Lafayette in 1969 from River Cave,Illinois.
She married the Rev. Harvey E. Harsh, Aug. 20, 1927, and he died Aug.3,1981. Her husband was a former associate pastor of Immanuel United Church of Christ.
A homemaker, Mrs. Harsh was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ,the Mary Martha Circle, Senior Citizens, a life member of the Palatine to American organization and the National Genealogical Society.
Surviving are a son, Merwyn D. Harsh of Lafayette, and a daughter,Catharine Cassady of Ridge Farm, Ill.
