Actor. He was the highest-paid actor in Germany. His first acting role was in the film "Erzherzog Johanns grosse Liebe" (Archduke Johann's Great Love). He then appeared in more than 40 films, in which he played romantic leads. He was to appear in the remake of the film "My Man Godfrey," but left after differences with Universal Studios. This role was taken over by David Niven. His other movie credits are: "Helden" (Arms and the Man) and "Onkel Toms Huette" (Uncle Tom's Cabin) In the 1960s, he stopped making movies, but appeared on stage and on television.
