William L. “Billy” Goss, 89, of Indiana, formerly of Cherry Tree, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21, 2019.

The son of Otto and Silva (Litzinger) Goss, he was born on April 21, 1930, in Montgomery Township, Indiana County.

William was a graduate of Montgomery Township High School.

He attended the Indiana Wesleyan Methodist Chu-rch and had been a member of the former Hazelet United Methodist Church.

William retired in 1990 as a civil service employee of the U.S. Government in the Military Science Department at IUP, where he worked for 23 years.

He enjoyed gardening, reading and listening to music.

William is survived by his brother, D. Leroy Goss and wife Anna, of Cherry Tree; his nieces and nephews: Barbara and Wayne Eckert; Craig Sheaffer; Dave and Tina Goss; Judy and Bob Wazelle; Dottie Hilliard; Jim and Ruby Goss; Sherri Sinclair; and Eric and Lisa Goss, and a number of great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leonard Goss; his sister, Louise Sheaffer, and his nephew, Jack Sheaffer.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and again from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., in Hillsdale, where a funeral service will take place following the visitation. Pastor Benjamin Blowers will officiate.

Interment will be at the Citizens Cemetery, Cherry Tree.
