El Monte Flier Dies in Crash
William C. Aney, 40, general manager of the Angelus Trailer Mfg. Corp., El Monte, was killed Tuesday morning when his single engine Nation airplane crashed 10 miles south of Ely, Nev.
He was en route from Pocatello to Las Vegas in a snowstorm.
He leaves his widow, Joan; a son, Bill, 14, and a daughter, Jill, 1, of 8302 Garibaldi Ave., San Gabriel.

Trailer Firm Chief Dies in Nevada Airplane Crash
ELY, Nev. - William C. Aney, 39, general manager of the Angelus Trailer Manufacturing Company, of El Monte, Calif., was killed Tuesday in the crash of his small plane.
Aney, flying from Pocatello, Idaho, to Las Vegas, encountered a snowstorm near Ely. His single engine Avion crashed into the side of a mountain about 10:30 a.m. It was spotted by a deer hunter less than two hours later and soon afterward Deputy Sheriff Ted Olson of Ely recovered the body.

According to his NV. Death certificate, William Clarke Aney was b. Feb. 21, 1922 in New York, NY. and d. at about 11a.m. on Oct. 31, 1961, ten miles southwest of Ely, in the N. Springs-Ward Mountain area in White Pine County, NV.
His cause of death was multiple injuries which he incurred in a single-engine aircraft accident in a rural area of Ely near Ward Mountain area during storm conditions.
William was a WWII veteran according to his personnel papers.
His parents were listed as:
John L. Aney and Edith Trelease.
His usual occupation was General Manager in the Trailer Maunufacturing industry.
His usual residence was: 8302 Garibaldi Ave. in San Gabriel, Los Angeles County, CA.
