Additional information was taken from U.S. Census enumerations for 1920 (with parents and siblings in Brighton, Tift, Georgia,) 1930 (with parents and siblings in Warrior, Colquitt, Georgia,) and 1940 (with spouse and infant son in Hamilton County, Florida;) and Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 (giving parents' names as Willis D. Dorminey and Flossie McMillan.)
Another contributor has suggested that Mrs. Sumner was born in Colquitt County, Georgia, and that she died in Tifton, Tift County, Georgia. No sources were provided. The source cited above gives place of birth as Tifton, Georgia, and does not give place of death. The Social Security Death Index states that Lelia's last known residence was in Tifton, but says nothing about where she died.
