Darlene M. Allen Darlene M. Allen, age 82, of Round Rock, passed away on January 10, 2012. She was born on January 7, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Harvey and Lillie Belle (DeWitt) Lewis. Darlene and her husband, Ernest, were longtime members of Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was the proud wife of a church Elder. She was a caregiver at heart, and offered her care and support to many family members and friends. Darlene was the first librarian at Pflugerville Elementary School, and retired from Pflugerville ISD with more than twenty years of service. She loved to read and garden, and will be remembered by her family as being the best wife, mother, and grandmother. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of nearly 66 years, Ernest F. Allen, Jr.; children, Linda and husband Gary Gray, Randal and wife Twyla Allen, Mark and wife Dawn Deena Allen, and Tim Allen; her grandchildren, Lisa, Andra, Makayla, Blair, Wesley, Dustin, Garrett, Hannah, Chris and Josh; and her great-grandchildren, Zane, Hayden, Cody, and Kara. She is also survived by her grandson-in-law, Darren, and her granddaughter- in-law, Lisa Gray. She is preceded in death by her mother, 'Lillie B', her oldest son, Richard, and her grandsons, James Gray and David Allen. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 13th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14th in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
