Funeral services for Luther D. Briscoe, age 75 of Vaiden, were held March 22, 2003 at Oliver Chapel in Winona with Rev. Mike Labasso officiating. Burial was held at Vaiden Cemetery in Vaiden with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Briscoe died March 18, 2003 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.
He was a retired employee of Scott Petroleum of Vaiden and a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church near Vaiden.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katherine Briscoe of Vaiden; son, George Briscoe of Kazakhstan, Russia; brothers, Virgil Briscoe of Vaiden and Howard Briscoe of Memphis, TN; four grandsons and one great-grand- daughter. Mr. Briscoe was preceded in death by a daughter, Carmen Briscoe Rigby.
Pallbearers were James Alford, Ralph Self, Charles Ellis, Vernon "Buddy" Welch,B.B. Sanders, Dennie Miller, R.W. "PeeWee" Miller and Ricky Corley.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vaiden Cemetery Fund.
