Mrs. Lucinda McFadden, former resident here, died at her home in Shidler, Oklahoma, and the body was brought here for burial in Garnett Cemetery, beside her father, who died fourteen years ago.

Lucinda E. Springston was born in Iowa, Jan. 30, 1860. She was the oldest daughter of Samuel Springston, an old soldier and early settler in what is now Union township.

Feb 12, 1878 she married Marshall F. Stillwell. Children: son S. F. of Stella, Okla. and daughter Amy, who preceded her in death.

Jan 31, 1886 she married George McFadden, of Centerville. Children: Carl of Miami, Florida; Walter, who died in infancy; and Fern White of Shidler, Okla.

They left Garnett about twenty years ago.
