"Death of Clement Ward"
In the death of Clement H. Ward, Santa Cruz loses not only a very popular young man but also a well-known and trustworthy citizen. Mr. Ward served as copyist in the County Clerk's office for several years, after which he filled the position as bookkeeper at the Powder Works. He was known and loved by all who came in contact with him. He was also an able representative of the California Fish Commission. The result of his sudden demise was caused by heart trouble, as we are informed by his brother, John S. Ward.
