He retired from Columbus Auto Parts Company(CAP) as a Heat Treater in Columbus, Ohio. Canada was Deacon of Hill View Free Will Baptist Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Canada came from a large family and he had a large family, he married Julie J Hayes in 1923 and they had Thirteen children. Their sons are, Reo, Larry, Gene and James Blackburn. Their daughters are, Inice(or Inez, she died young), Dorothy Marie(she died young), Lucille(Wellman), Geraldine(died young), Hildred(Diamond), Kathryn(Gammell), Carolyn(Oyer), Judith(Dingess), and Beverly(Sprouse) Blackburn.
