Jan Mary (Kalanquin) Butler, 37, of Flushing, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 19, 1999, at McLaren Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Butler was born April 5, 1962, in Flint, to John and Phyllis Kalanquin.

She was a lifelong resident of the Flint area.

She was a 1980 graduate of Grand Blanc High School and of Central Michigan University.

She married Lyndol Butler August 4, 1984, in Flint. He survives.

Mrs. Butler was a member of the St. Robert Catholic Church, where she taught CCD, and was a member of Mother's Together.

She was a licensed social worker for Genesee County. She was a loving wife, mother and daughter.

In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include two sons, Matthew and Samuel, and a daughter, Cathryn, all at home; and her mother-in-law, Marie Butler, of Homer.
Visitation is today (Wednesday) from 1-9 p.m. at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint. A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of the mass.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing, with Father Steve Makranyi officiating.
Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Michigan Special Olympics.
