"Linus J. Tormey, County Pioneer, Taken By Death.
Scion of a pioneer Contra Costa county family, Linus Joseph Tormey, president of the Tormey Estate company, died last night at 10 o'clock at his home near Rodeo following a heart attack.
A native of the Rodeo district, Tormey, a son of the late Supervisor Patrick Tormey and brother of the late Attorney Leo Tormey of Martinez, resided in the waterfront community all of his life.
He devoted all of his time to the management of the Tormey estate properties.
He was the son of the late Patrick and Mary Tormey and brother of Mrs. Mary O'Leary of Oakland, Misses Ruth and Verda Tormey of Rodeo, Clement Tormey of Hayward and the late John, Louis and Leo Tormey.
Services under the auspices of Scott & Green parlors of Martinez, will be held Friday. The cortege will leave the family home at 9:30 a.m. and high mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's church, Rodeo, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Catherine's cemetery, Martinez.
The Rosary will be said at the residence Thursday at 8:30 p.m."
