"JUDGE TORMEY DIES, FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY.

Funeral services for Justice of the Peace Leo Tormey of Martinez, who suddenly died Wednesday, will be held in Rodeo Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, from St. Patrick's church.

Tormey had been suffering from an aliment of the stomach for some time and death is believed to have been caused by this condition.

He suffered a relapse at his home Tuesday evening, and was rushed to the Martinez hospital where he died shortly after 8 o'clock.

Leo Tormey was widely known over the county and numbered among his close friends many persons prominent in the political and civic life of the county, and his death leaves a widow, Mrs. Laura Tormey, and three children, Jack, Phillip and David.

Born at the family home in Tormey, near Oleum, on July 9, 1878, Leo Tormey was instructed by private school teachers and then entered St. Mary's College in Oakland, where he graduated in 1897, later entering the practice of law in Martinez.

Tormey was the son of Patrick and Mary Tormey, pioneer residents of Contra Costa county and one time largest land owners in the county. His father was county supervisor for many years.

Besides his family here he is survived by three sisters, Misses Ruth and Verda Tormey, who make their residence in the family home at Tormey, and Mrs. Mae [May] O'Leary of Oakland, and two brothers, Linus Tormey of San Francisco and Clement Tormey of Oakland."
