Larry was the son of Clarence Elwood Franklin (1912-1972) and Pearl (Betty) Mabel Ackley (1918-1992). He moved to Fort Myers, Florida in May 1973 and remained there until his death. He died from Pancreatic Cancer at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. He was survived by 1st wife, Katherine Vosburgh-Routhier, 2nd wife Patricia King-Franklin, daughters Tammie Franklin-Allen and April Mae Franklin, a grandson, and nephew James Franklin of Pennsylvania. He was buried on August 17th, 2001. Grave 1 contains his grandmother Ida Mae Ford-Ackley (1896-1986).
