Rose Monroe, through her maternal ancestry, is a direct descendant of WILLIAM BREWSTER of the MAYFLOWER, 1620.

Her daughter has been vetted and possesses the BRONZE MEDALLION that was awarded posthumously to Rose. Presently, due to potential cemetery theft concerns, the medallion is retained by a grandson and a Pilgrim representation has been carved on the subject's restored headstone.

Most of Rose's years were spent "up north." Upon her final return to a Kentucky rural life, she practically single-handedly provided out-of-state college educations for her children: the older, a physician, political activist, entrepreneur and the much younger, an educator, entrepreneur, and social activist. "Peachtree tea" helped maintain the discipline required for ballet, piano, and academic studies, etc. Rose's home was not a democracy; mediocrity was completely unacceptable.

Yes, Rose is to be praised for her accomplishments rather than criticized for her shortcomings. She was influenced by her maternal grandmother, Alice Tinsley Doyle. Rose was close to siblings Mary Isenberg, Cinnie Frances Sikorsky, and John Monroe. Rose was the personification of dignity and selflessness. She was a believer in anti establishmentarianism long before the movement.
Rose would have enjoyed breaking bread with Bella Abzug.

Notice the Doyle features through successive generations.
