Andrew Allen, 90, of Rancho Mirage died Dec. 13, 2000, in Rancho Mirage. He was born Sept. 2, 1910, to Alan and Bella Taylor Allen in Joplin, Mo. He married Rosalie Detornyay on Nov. 29, 1952, in Reno, Nev.

He was a self-employed investor and served in the U.S. Navy 1942-45.

He was a philanthropist for organizations in Rancho Mirage and Cheyenne, Wyo., and a member of Thunderbird Country Club and Cheyenne Country Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Annabelle of Rancho Mirage; and his former wife, Rosalie of Rancho Mirage.

Services will be held 1 p.m. today at Ramon Chapel, Palm Springs Mortuary, in Cathedral City.

Entombment will be in Palm Springs Mausoleum, Cathedral City, under the direction of Palm Springs Mortuary.

The family suggests donations to the Kidney Institute of the Desert, Indio.
