Diane (Dannie) Benton, 81, passed peacefully Dec. 5, 2011 with her children embracing her with love as she passed.
Dannie, born in Macon, Ga., raised in Daphne and a 1949 graduate of Fairhope High School, spent her adult years in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
She is survived by her brother, Dan (Roberta) Benton of Fairhope; her son, James (Marie) Balocki of Washington, D.C.; her daughters, Elizabeth (Joseph) Broderick of Irvine, Calif. and Roberta (Steven) Henn of Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; her beloved clan of seven grandchildren and, of course, Spotsy, her cat.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 15, 2012 at McMillan Grange, Puyallup, Wash. Private interment will be with her parents, Dan and King Benton, at the Old Daphne Methodist Cemetery in Daphne.
