Tasha Elizabeth Williams, age 41 of Delaware formerly of Chesterville died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville.
She was born on August 26, 1967 in Columbus, the eldest of Robert and Karynn (Lovett) Williams of Chesterville. Raised on a small farm in near Chesterville, she graduated valedictorian of Highland High School Class of 1985. On scholarship, she graduated with Honors in English Literature, with Minors in Philosophy and Dance from Long Island University. During her college years, in the Theatre Dept. she met her life companion and husband of 20 years Richard Grunn.
Tasha taught ballet, creative movement, and music at Third Street Music School, Turtle Bay Music School and The Neighborhood School in New York City. Thereafter, she and her husband and his brother, Peter Grunn owned and operated "The Sault Falls Inn" in Braman, PA for over ten years.
She continued her teaching and commitment to children, when she founded, owned, and operated The Braman Arts Conservatory in Callicoon, NY. The conservatory offered classes in theatre, dance, art, writing, and language as well as a performing arts series that featured local, national, and international performers. She received numerous awards and recognition from the states of New York and Pennsylvania, for her inspiring work with children and adults through the arts, and her many cultural contributions to the Upper Delaware River Community. In 2004 she was named as one of the "outstanding women" making a difference in the Upper Delaware Region.
She will be remembered for her many different talents, each family member and friend recognizing and appreciating each ones uniqueness. Her luminescence will live on in all who knew her. Quite the hostess and a true Pollyanna, she was dedicated to every endeavor with an unmatched intellectual prowess. A fairy goddess that will forever dance on the moon.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is also survived by children: Dylan Thomas, Corinna Elizabeth, Sullivan Cooney, and Sheridan Porter Grunn, siblings: S. Vernon, Joe (Julie) Lovett of Columbus, Captain Tom (Shirley) Williams of Winter haven, FL, Keith (Nancy) Williams of Westerville, Aunt: Judy (Jerry) Phillips of Canal Winchester, a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
Preceded in death by Grandparents: Luke "Papa Luke" and Mona "Nana" Lovett, Luther "Pop" Williams and Aunt Sandra Lovett.
