TUCKER, Philip A. age 88 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011. He was born April 12, 1923 in Hannibal, MO to the late Carl and Emma Tucker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen, a son Thomas and a sister Isabelle Hardy. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joyce, two daughters, Lynn (Dan) Grau of Mason, OH and Susan (Jim) McCulloch of Martinsville, VA, also a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Phil graduated in Missouri from Hannibal High School and the University of Missouri, Science and Technology at Rolla, MO. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Sergeant in the 22nd Armored Engineers, 5th Armored Division. He was employed at Mound Laboratory, Monsanto Research Corp., Miamisburg as a metallurgical engineer, retiring after 34 years. The family will receive friends at Tobias Funeral Home- Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a celebration of Phil's life at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at David's Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton in Phil's memory.
