Gene Alvin Boudreaux, 82, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Montpelier. He was a graduate of University High School of Baton Rouge and attended LSU for civil engineering. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after fighting in the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Monday, May 9, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 3 p.m., conducted by Pastor Donald Young. Burial in Montpelier Cemetery.

Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Lewis Boudreaux; son, Michael Lewis Boudreaux, of Montpelier; daughter, Cathy Boudreaux Morgan and husband Homer, of Watson; grandchildren, Ashley Ma and husband Hien, Chad Foster and wife Kelly, and Christopher Michael Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Nicholas Ma, and Alayna Foster; and brother, Paul C. Boudreaux.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Stephen Paul and Lucy Corbin Boudreaux; two sisters and a brother.

Honorary pallbearers are Willie Lewis, Hilary Watson and Richard Blouin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Montpelier Cemetery fund or North Oaks Hospice Care. Special thanks to Randy Foster, Dr. Stevens and staff, Dr. Cook and staff, Roslyn with North Oaks Hospital, Mr. Lynn, Gail and Gloria with North Oaks Hospice Care.
