~~Obituary~~
The death of John Edwin Jester at the age of 67 years occurred Feb 20 1962 in the Veterans Hospital, Kansas City, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He lived fives miles east of Harrisonville.
Mr Jester was born in this County June 20 1895, where he spent his entire life excepting his Army service during World War I. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs Pearl Jester; his father, Ed Jester; and a brother Clarence Jester. His mother, a sister, Iva Jester, and a brother Charles Jester, predeceased him.
Mr Jester was a member of Cass County Barracks No 1027, Veterans of World War I, Harrisonville.
The funeral was at 2 pm, Saturday, Feb 23, in the Runnenburger Chapel, Harrisonville, the Rev Wesley J Arington, pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiating. Music was by Ernest W Shepherd. Casketbearers were E R Kircher, Jr, Russell Kircher, Johnnie Campbell, Warren Williams, John Duncan and E H Duncan. Burial was in the Orient Cemetery, a mile northeast of Harrisonville.
