Service for Joe Edwin Rose, 59, west of Borger, were at 11 a.m. Saturday in Brown's Chapel of the Fountains. The Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiated.

Mr. Rose died at 6:22 p.m., Thursday in his home. The body was sent to Dallas for cremation. Local arrangements were by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

A native of Hugh Springs, he had been a Borger resident for 17 years. He was a retired carpenter, and World War II Veteran. He was a member of American Legion and VFW Post 1789.

Survivors include four brothers, James and Cecil Rose, both of Gladewater, Texas; H.D. Rose of Borger, Texas, and Willie Dean Rose of Lockney, Texas. Four sisters: Mrs Mitty McAlister of Childress, Texas, Mrs Betty Taber, San Jose, California, Mrs Ruth Aricheta, Dallas; and Mrs Tressie Laycock of New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
