Mrs. Boyd was a lifelong Neosho, Missouri area resident and a member of High Street Christian Church, in Neosho. She worked at Big Smith Brothers Manufacturing as an inspector, retiring after several years, and also did alterations for McGinty's department store. She was a member of Amalgamated Garment Workers Union of America.
Arvilla and Freeman Leonard Boyd were married July 23, 1932. He preceded her in death September 22, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, Freeman Leonard Boyd, Jr.
She is survived by a son, J. D. Boyd and wife, Artie Lucille Boyd of Neosho, MO; a daughter, Joy Huffman and husband, David Huffman of Joplin, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Jo Boyd; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.
