BURT, LUCRETIA HELEN (PERRY) June 9, 1922 to Dec. 13, 2011 Lucretia Helen (Perry) Burt born in Topeka, Kansas to Clarence and Gladys Perry, graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1939 and from Auburn University in 1943. She belonged to Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Chi Omega Sorority. She met James Burt at Auburn and they married while he was in medical school at the U. of Rochester. They had three children and upon completion of James' OB/GYN residency at Columbia, they settled in Dayton, Ohio. He later remarried and she remained single, devoting her life to her family. She belonged to book clubs, American Association of University Women, Del Mar Community Connections, and Solana Beach Senior Center. She traveled to Europe and Israel with her church. She volunteered at the church nursery, visited nursing home residents and at the UCSD International Center. She was an incredible Mother, Grandmother and friend. She lived a life of love and virtue with Scripture as her guide. She was the guiding light and heart and soul of our family. She is preceded in death by her son Gary Burt, sister Adrian Perry, brother Bob Perry, brother-in-laws George Russin and Ray Wood and is survived by her daughter, Sherry Ceccanese (Gary) granddaughter Cara Ceccanese of San Diego, son James Burt of L.A., Kevin Burt (Liz and son Brandon) son Michael Burt of L.A., sisters Marjorie Russin and Beverly Wood, sister-in-law, Aiko Perry, ex-husband Dr. James Burt, cousin Diana Smith of Poway and other cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. The loss of our precious Mother leaves a deep hole in our hearts, but we rejoice in knowing that she has returned to the Lord. She will be forever loved and missed. A Memorial Service will be at the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, January 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. She will be buried next to her son at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, 120 Stevens Ave., Solana Beach, CA, 92075.
