Alfred P. "Brad' Bradford, 87, of Muscle Shoals, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Colbert Memorial Chapel with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Malcolm King and the Rev. Ted Vafeas will officiate.
He is survived by his son, Danny Bradford of south Florida; daughters, Barbara Potts, Knoxville, Tenn., Dot Gothard, Hixon, Tenn., and Brenda Byrd, Muscle Shoals, sisters, Avery Smith, Maude Smith, and Emmy Moland; brothers, Earl Bradford, Irving Bradford and Walter Bradford; grandchildren, the Rev. Mike Gothard, Troy Gothard, Greg Potts, Melanie Sharpe, Brad Byrd and John Byrd great-grandchildren, Michael, Sean and Kathryn Gothard, Alex Gothard and David Potts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alphia Hill Bradford.
Pallbearers include Brad Byrd, Troy Gothard, J.B. Meadows, Leon Hunter, Paul Martin and Warren Daily.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 320 for 40 years. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals where he served as a deacon.
He was a member of the LaGrange Living Historical Association from which he received the Outstanding Preservation and Achievement Award of 1997.
