Arbutus Baker (nee Dellinger), 85, of Lorain Ohio, passed away Tuesday January 10, 2012 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain, following a brief illness.

She was born in Edinburg Virginia on January 6, 1927 and had been a resident of Lorain 70 years. Arbutus was a member of the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens of the East Side of Lorain. She was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, animals, especially her cat, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include daughters, Alpha (Earl) Moser of Puyallup Washington, Dorothy (Tom) Maruschak of Lorain, and Glenna Cheadle of Lorain, grandchildren, Anthony Wallace, Brian (Naomi) Wallace, Scott (Lori) Thompson, Angela (Chris) Yeager and William Maruschak, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O. Baker, son, Harry O. Baker Jr., grandson, Michael Maruschak, parents, Charles E. and Glendora (nee Heishman) Dellinger, and her five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call Friday, January 13, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township, Ohio where services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10 AM. Chaplain Chuck Boals of the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road Lorain, OH 44053.
