OTHA CONNIE PEGGY "GRANNY PEG" LEE PIERCE

Otha Connie Peggy Pierce, 95, was born to Tera Hawkins Lee and Kelso Lee on December 31, 1916 at Lake Valley, Washita County, Oklahoma. Peggy was raised in the Lake Valley Community and attended Lake Valley Schools, graduating in 1934. She married A. L. "Tiny" Pierce on October 30, 1935. To this union, one daughter was born, San Pierce of Lake Valley. Tiny and Peggy moved to Gotebo in the late 50's where Peggy continued to live after Tiny's death, until moving back to Lake Valley with San, six years ago.

Granny Peg loved being a farmer's wife, was an expert seamstress and was known all over for her cooking and her pie making skills. Granny Peg dedicated her adult life to her three grandchildren, Obie Chancellor, Lake Valley, Oklahoma; Donde Chancellor Pruitt and husband, Mike, Blanchard, Oklahoma; and Bo Chancellor, Lake Valley, Oklahoma. Granny Peg said she was blessed to have five great-grandchildren, "Just look what has made me GREAT," Megan Chancellor Tracy and husband Brett, Snyder, Oklahoma; Kasie Pruitt and Brandon Puritt, Blanchard, Oklahoma; and Tyler Chancellor and Desi Chancellor, Lake Valley, Oklahoma. "And it gets GREATER" granny would say, as she has two great-great-grandsons, Caden Tracy and Cason Tracy, Snyder, Oklahoma.

Peggy's husband, Tiny, her parents, Kelso and Tera Lee, two brothers, A. L. "Lois" Lee, Weatherford, Oklahoma; and Lem Lee, Seattle, Washington, all preceded her in death.

Peggy leaves behind one sister, Leona Willis, of Clinton, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

The entire family would like to take this opportunity to Thank Deniese, who cared for Granny during her illness. Granny learned to love her dearly, as do we all. We do appreciate all you have done for granny and us, Deniese, Thank You!

Peggy came to know her Lord and Savior when she was twelve years old at a revival at the Sharon Baptist Church, Lake Valley, Oklahoma.

Peggy had been fighting alzheimers for some time and passed away on January 10, 2012 at Lake Valley, Washita County, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Lake Valley, north of Gotebo. Burial will follow in the Gotebo Cemetery, Gotebo, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, Oklahoma.
