The name Rohde (in connection with this Rohde family) has been seen as: Rhoda, Roda, Rode, Rody, Rodie, Rhody, Rhode and Rohde. Mary's brother Henry signed his name as "Rohde".

Mary Christine was the daughter of John and Christina Rohde. She married Philip Puehler on September 8, 1875 in Menominee Falls, Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Puehler, 86, Dies at Oshkosh

Mrs. Philipp (Mary Christine) Puehler, 86 died at Mercy hospital in Oshkosh Saturday after spending three months there for treatment. She had been ill for sevearl years. Funeral services were conducted form the Stoneman chapel Sunday afternoon with the Rev Geroge Warren officiated. Burial was in Bayside.

Mrs. Puehler was born in New York state June 29, 1855, to Mr. and Mrs. John Rhode. Her husband died in 1933.

The survivors are two sons, Arthur of Oshkosh and Harold of Muskegon, Mich. and six daughters, Mrs. Mary Hormen of Manitowoc Rapids; Mrs. Nellie Daniels, Manitowoc; Mrs. Elsie Jorns, Jacksonport; Mrs. Katie Harder, Egg Harbor and Mrs. Flora Schlck, Egg Harbor; and Mrs. Cora Nelson; Muskegon, Mich.

Among those here from outside at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Puehler of Oshkosh and Mrs. Charles Herman and son of Manitowoc Rapids. Door County Advocate, Friday, Oct. 17, 1941

Philip and Mary (Rohde) Puehler were the aunt and uncle of Lena (Rohde) Gartman. Lena (Rohde) Gartman collected many photos, some of which are unlabeled.
