Rev Charles Ware Park was ordained as a Congregantionalist like his father and grandfather. On June 16, 1870 in Amherst, Massachusetts, he married Anna Maria Ballantine of Henniker, New Hampshire, She was born in India, where her father, Rev Henry Ballantine, was a missionary. Charles and Anna went to India to join the mission, and the first four of their six children were born there.
Due to illness, they returned to the US. Charles soon became a Unitarian. Two more children were born. Charles accepted a position in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, but lived just three months, and died before preaching there.
Wife: Anna Maria Ballantine, b 16 Dec 1844 in Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra, India, d 2 Jan 1918 in Brookline, Norfolk, Massachustts in the great flu of that year.
Children:
1. Rev Charles Edwards Park, b 14 Mar 1873 in Mahabaleshwar, India, d 23 Sep 1962 in Boston, Massachusetts, for 40 years minister at the First Church in Boston. He married Mary Eliot Turner on 19 Sep 1903 at her home in Geneva, Kane, Illinois. They had 5 children, 4 living to adulthood.
2. Cornelia Park, b 7 Aug 1874 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, d 22 Feb 1947 in West Boxford, Essex, Massachusetts. She married Ernest Knaebel of Long Island, New York on 10 Jul 1900. They had 3 children.
3. Julia Ballantine Park, b 16 Apr 1878 in Mahalabashwar, India, d 11 May 1922 in Brookline, Norfolk, Massachustts. She operated The Park School in Brookline, and did not marry.
4. Caroline Winthrop Park, b 28 Dec 1881 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, d 24 Oct 1961 in West Boxford, Essex. Massachusetts. "Cad" was the last Park to live in the old family home. She taught school, and did not marry.
5. Alice Park, b 3 Apr 1885 in Boston, Massachusetts, d in Jul 1974 in Hartsdale, Westchester. New York. Alice married first, in 1919, Charles Joseph Goldmark of New York City, second, in 1934, Wilfred Adolphe Openhym of New York City. No children by either marriage.
6. Edith Park, b 15 Feb 1888 in Derby, New Haven, Connecticut, d 12 Dec 1986 in Carmel Valley, Monterey, California. Edith married John Fessenden Truesdell of Montclair, Essex, New Jersy, on 21 Mar 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts. No children.
