Buddy was educated i the Los Angles public schools. After completing his formal education he left California and enrolled in Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Buddy was drafted in the service, United States Army in 1967 and shortly joined by tow of his best buddies, Eddie Joe and Bobby.

Larry and Ester were joined in holy matrimony December 31, 1969. To this union one son was born: Larry Raney Billoups Jr. Buddy was also father to Charles More.

Larry worked for the City of Los Angeles for 37 years. He began following Charles in Pop Warner football and became involved with the league. Shortly after following Charles he couldn't stand sitting in the bleachers and he became Coach Billoups, Pop Warner Football., Greater Compton "CG". He loved children. In the pop Warner league Coach Billoups loved setting up plays and looked forward to each game. Golf was his third love. He was an avid golfer and taught a few. When he wasn't making golf clubs for himself and others, he loved riding his motorcycle.

In 1988, Jazzmine was born. He became involved in her life. As Jazzmine grew up, she would often remind Buddy that he was "her protector." Buddy took that to mean that he would be her Prom date as well, but that didn't happen. While raising her she became the fourth wheel in our lives. And our traveling buddy.

Larry leaves o cherish an share in his memories his loving wife Esther Billoups, beloved father of Larry and Charles: grand children Jazzmine, Charles Jr. Edward, Shian, Malcolm, and Azarous, (Buddha); one sister Betty Holloway of Oakland Ca; oldest brother Leo Billoups Jr. of Sacramento, CA; and his youngest brother, Doyle Billoups, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Aunt Mildred Wright of Simi Valley, CA; cousins Jean and Cookie; Sisters-in-law; Bessie Billoups, Bessie Darden; Marie Pope; Francis Billoups; Brother-in-law Charles Holloway; David Pope, Gerald Pope; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
