BAXLEY — Mike Edwin Connor, 64, of Baxley, died Sunday Jan. 13, 2008 at Appling Health Care System. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sand Hill Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Allen Carter and the Rev. Ches Smith officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. today at Oakridge Cemetery.
Mr. Connor was born July 7, 1943, in Tifton, to the late Claude Morris and Velma Mobley Connor. He was a member of Sand Hill Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserves and was retired from Rayonier. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
Mr. Connor is survived by his wife; two daughters; one sister, ; one brother, Jerry Mobley Connor of Tifton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; four grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews.
