Clarence C. Amons, 87, entered into rest on Saturday, November 17, 2007, in San Antonio, surrounded by his family. Clarence was a Navy veteran of WWII and a retiree from civil service at Kelly Field. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where for many years he planted and tended to the beautiful roses that still surround the grounds of the church. Even as his health declined, he never lost his sense of humor. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Olivia, whom he now joins. He is survived by his children, son, Anthony Amons and his wife, Devalyn of San Antonio; 4 daughters, Aileen Meche of Cobolo, Shirley Dowdy and her husband, Bill of Mountain Home; Lorraine Arguijo and her husband, Al of Schertz; and Carmen Jobson and her husband, Travis of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Parklane West and also to VITAS Hospice Services of San Antonio. He is dearly loved and will be sorely missed. ....
