C.R. ``Russ'' Hawkins, 77, of Ashland died Thursday, Aug. 31, 1995, at
Meadowbrook Manor in Columbia.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at the New Salem
Cemetery in Ashland with Elder Wallace Johnson officiating. Burial will be in
the New Salem Cemetery in Ashland. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Hawkins was born Aug. 17, 1918, to William A. and Elizabeth Easterly
Hawkins in Tulsa, Okla.

He married Margaret Grooms on March 10, 1955, in Columbia, and she survives.

He retired from Boone Hospital Center, where he worked in the maintenance
department, and had been a farmer most of his life.

Survivors also include two sisters, June Sievert of Ashland and Movelle
Sweeney of Jefferson City, and two nieces.
