Cecelia Irene Shafer, daughter of John and Augustine (Mundschenk) Brickel, was born May 30, 1917 south of Albion in rural Boone County, Nebraska.

Cecelia, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Norfolk Regional Health Services, Norfolk, Nebraska.

Cecelia attended a rural school three miles south of Albion, Nebraska through the 8th grade. Following school, she helped out on the family farm.

On June 24, 1935, Cecelia was united in marriage to Leo A. Shafer in Albion, Nebraska.

They made their home in Albion, Nebraska where she worked hanging wallpaper for many years. She also worked as a nurse's aide at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center, Albion, Nebraska for 20 years.

Cecelia was a member of the United Methodist Women's group, Albion, Nebraska.

Cecelia was preceded in death by: husband, Leo A. Shafer; seven brothers; three sisters and a great-granddaughter.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE.
