Mr. Higdon was born in Bay, Arkansas, to Will and Doney Kirkland Higdon.
Mr. Higdon had worked as a farmer and for Hedger Brothers Concrete Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Allene Higdon; his parents; three grandsons, David Martin, Little A. Allen and Michael Pagan; one great-grandson, Toby Pagan; one brother and five sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Marvin, William and John Higdon, all of Bay; daughters, Frances Allen of Springfield, Mo.; Martha Martin of Iron City, Tenn., and Mary Pagan of Poughkeepsie; 13 grand-children; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Flo Heath and Estell Metcalf, both of Jonesboro.
Burial was at Pine Hill Cemetery with Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in charge.
