Elvira/Alvira French was the daughter of David French and Lucy Keneipp. David was murdered along the Newburgh Road in the Cleveland, Ohio area in 1826. Her first marriage was to Joseph Drew in 1837. They divorced in 1842. Her brother Elah attested to her age on the marriage license when she married her second husband Azariah Pinney in 1842.
