Garland Woodrow Hudgins, 63, died Wednesday, September 29, 1982 at his home in Mathews.

Mr. Hudgins was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was retired from the Naval Weapons Station at Yorktown.

He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Oriental Lodge No. 20, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, Urbana Royal Arch Chapter No. 59, and Mathews American Legion Post No. 83.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Braxton Billups Hudgins; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine H. Campbell of Newport News and Mrs. Roberta H. Burroughs of Mathews; two brothers, E. Cecil Hudgins and Waverly S. Hudgins of Mathews and three grandchildren.

A Masonic service will be held at 8 tonight in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, conducted by Oriental Lodge No. 20.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Rudy Smith, pastor of the Mathews United Methodist Charge, and the Rev. J. Martin Diggs.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Susan.
