She was born Nov. 10, 1921, in Kittanning, daughter of Thomas and Kathryn (Kunselman) Shankel.
Mrs. Peters was employed by Armstrong County Memorial Hospital as a clerk at the snack bar and for the television service.
She was a member of the First Church of God, Kittanning, the Kittanning Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Kittanning Chapter of the Amaranth and the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two sons, Barry D. Peters and his wife, Freda, of Cowansville, and Rick T. Peters and his wife, Toni, of Sigel; five grandchildren, Charity (Peters) Moore, Rick Peters, Ryan Peters, Amanda Peters and Jeremy Peters; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas W. Shankle Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Worthington; one nephew, Tom Shankle; and one niece, Karen (Shankle) Shafer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernard D. Peters, who died Dec. 27, 1975.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at BAUER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS SERVICES INC., 515 North McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. G. Wayne Eckman officiating. Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.
