George Walter Hooper, 69, died suddenly Wednesday morning at 5:30 o'clock from a heart attack suffered a few minutes after arriving at Dallas market with a load of peppers. He was carried to Parkland Hospital but died soon after being hospitalized.
Funeral services were to be conducted this afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at Gragard-Spraggins-Swofford Funeral Home. Rev. C. R. Meadows to officiate with the burial in Jarratt Cemetery.
Mr. Hooper had lived in Jacksonville all of his life. He was a member of First Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Sweet Hooper of Jacksonville, four sons, Roy Hooper of Gainesville, J.N. Hooper of Rusk, Clyde Hooper of Brownsville and Chester Hooper of San Angelo; a stepson, Otis Cannon of Shreveport, La; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Evie Jennie of Shreveport; two brothers, Sam Hooper of Mt. Alba and Mat Hooper of Cayuga; two sisters Mrs. C. A. Odell and Mrs Vircie Rodgers of Palestine and four grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Gragard-Spraggins-Swofford Funeral Home.
