Letter, Mrs Alonso Nelson Walling, McMinnville, Warren Co TN, to CKS on 2 Aug 1934- "I went to the Walter H KING farm near Smyrna [Rutherford Co TN], which was the Ridley place & once owned by John SHELBY, & found his grave stone. It was lying in a trash heap & broken. The final figure of the 2nd line was partly obliterated by the break; it looked like a 4, but I couldn't be sure. JOHN H SHELBY Born 21 August 1794 (1?)
