Sampson Bobo's line of descent: Gabriel Baubeau (1651-after 1737; grave unknown; came from France to MD), Spencer Bobo, Sr. (c. 1705 in VA - after 1764 in VA; grave unknown), Spencer Bobo, Jr. (1728 in VA - 1817 in SC; grave unknown), Absalom Bobo (1765 in VA - 1846 in SC) then Sampson.

Born to Absalom Bobo (1765-1846) & Ann Musgrove Bobo. Sampson married Rebecca Woodruff (1806-1846) about 1829 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

Six children:
• Nancy Woodruff Bobo Cansler (1831-1900)
• Mary Ann Bobo Todd (1832-1907)
• Alice Arseneth Bobo Wynne Burnett (1834-1918)
• Samuel A. Bobo (1838-1859)
• Jane Elizabeth Bobo Wells (1841-1911)
• Biram Bobo (1843-1845)

After the death of baby son Biram, followed by the death a month later of wife Rebecca at age 39, Sampson married Elizabeth Territhal Pearson on Sept. 14, 1848, in Spartanburg County, SC.

Three children:
• Sallie Bobo Bius (1849-1925)
• George S. Bobo (1851-1879; married Minnie Cleavland in 1877. Their son, Edwin Cleavland Bobo is at Memorial# 22676982.)
• Anthony Franklin Bobo (1853-1884)

Sampson & Elizabeth moved with their three children and the five surviving children of his previous marriage to Panola County, Mississippi around 1857. Sampson is buried with his second wife, Elizabeth.

Sampson Bobo served as a private with Co. E, 1st MS Cavalry (State Troops). He enlisted June 11, 1864, at the age of 55 and was discharged March 15, 1865.
