Lewis J. "Lew" Moore, 90, died on Sunday, January 8, 2012 in Provena St. Anne Center. Born October 30, 1921 in Rockford, son of David S. and Mona D. Borst. Married Marilyn A. Puffer on April 12, 1947 in Centennial United Methodist Church. He worked for Barnes Drill Company where he became a member of the IAM. Then worked for the Federal Government as a Federal Mediator and then a Federal Arbitrator prior to retiring in 1986. Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving 4 years in the CBI Theater during WWII. Member of Riverside Community Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #166. Lew loved train traveling and enjoyed collecting interesting post cards.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews, John Cecchinelli, Karen Cecchinelli, Elaine (Conrad) Thornton, Sally Truitt (John) Ryberg, Jennifer (Alan) Soderberg, Carol (Mark) Barrickman and Paul (Vickie) DeWitt; great nieces and nephews, Lisa, Laura, Wade, Randy, Ryan, Kim, Morgan, Christopher, Mike and Bradley as well as several cousins. Predeceased by his parents, sister, Bettie Cecchinelli and nephew, Peter Cecchinelli.

Funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Nat Bauer officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Northern Illinois Hospice & Grief Center or Rockford Rescue Mission.
