M Joyce Holterman, 91, long time South Superior resident died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the Middle River Health facility. She was born Aug 7, 1922 in Boxville, KY to Maude (Jenkins) and Morris Riggs. She grew up in the Detroit, MI area. She met and married Keith, after meeting him during WWII in Long Beach, CA.
Joyce retired from Superior Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk and later worked as a popular Walmart greeter. She was active in the Douglas Co Homemakers organization, and was a member of the East Duluth Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith; and three grandchildren, Angela, Dalton and Travis.
Joyce is survived by three daughters, Adona (Douglas) Rivord of Brooklyn Park, MN, Billie Holterman-Schniepp (Marlin) of Cottage Grove, MN and Lauretta (Duane) Abrahamzon of South Range, WI; grandchildren, Desiree Bartels, Troy and Alona Rivord, Cody Schniepp and Cole and Alex Abrahamzon; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Riggs of Henderson, KY; and a sister, Billie Dove Ware of Morganville, KY.
Pallbearers will be her three sons-in-law, Douglas, Marlin and Duane and three grandsons, Cody, Alex and Cole.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
