King's Mountain - Joshua "Josh" Dwight Black, 24, died Tuesday April 29, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Living Well Celebration Center in Orangeburg, with visitation two hours prior to service. Interment will follow at Memorial Park, Broughton Street, Orangeburg. He was born April 17, 1984, in Gaston County, son of Sam Dwight Black and Mary Spurling Bell. He was a 2002 graduate of Edisto High School in Cordova, employed with Sanders Brothers in Gaffney, as an iron worker, a member of Harvest Time Church of God, Mount Holly, N.C. and attended Living Well Celebration Center in Orangeburg. He enjoyed sports and coon hunting. Survivors are his mother and stepfather, Mary Spurling Bell & Dwayne Bell of Orangeburg; father and stepmother, Sam Dwight Black Jr. and Renee Black of Dallas, N.C.; wife Susannah Rider Black; son, Joshua Dwight Black Jr. of Orangeburg; daughter, Keriannah Jozalyn Black of the home; grandparents, Clyde & Bea Rayfield of McAdenville, N.C.; Rebecca Rollins Spurling of Mount Holly, N.C., Barbara Green of St. Matthews; sister, Tosha Raquel Black of Orangeburg; sisters, Anna Eller and Alethea Eller of Dallas, N.C.; Regina Bell and Donna Jacobs of Orangeburg, Angela Faust of St. Matthews; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Roy Spurling and Lawrence Greene. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Magnolia Room of Howell Funeral Home, other times at the home of Tosha Black, 229 Oakmont Drive, Orangeburg, following funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Children's Fund, 147 Rider Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
